The winner of Microsoft’s Global Tech Competition live at Wear It Innovation Summit

“New. Surprising. Game-changing” – the motto of this year’s Wear It Innovation Summit was also the motor powering the great content encountered in more than 60 talks, workshops and networking sessions at the event.

Hamayal Choudhry, founder of smartARM and the winner of Microsoft’s Global Tech Competition, the Imagine Cup 2018, with a prize of $130 000 USD out of about 40 000 students worldwide held the opening talk at this year’s Wear It Innovation Summit, setting the tone for two days of inspiring and innovative talks.

His creation was an advanced bionic hand for amputees powered by Artificial Intelligence.

Before winning the Imagine Cup 2018, Hamayal worked at Tesla. He acknowledged that you can’t just have a prosthetic arm ordered via Amazon and have it delivered the next day. “We need to make sure that we use technologies in the right way.” said Hamayal. “In ways that are impactful for humankind.”

Already in its 6th year, Wear It Innovation Summit is Europe’s leading conference and platform for professionals in the wearable technology business. Showcasing once more the technology of tomorrow that will move closer and closer to the humans’ body, this event is the place where game-changing startups and innovators meet today’s industry leaders.
