Johanna?Rief is Head of Communications and Head of Sexual Empowerment at WOW Tech Group. “I masturbate for science” is a statement Johanna established to explain, in one concise sentence, three circumstances: creating Sx Tech is about R&D and a lot of testing, (female) masturbation shouldn’t be tabooed anymore, and it is possible to find a job that is genuinely satisfying. WOW Tech develops and sells innovative, premium sex toys and brands. Known trademarks are Womanizer and We-Vibe. Both revolutionized the entire industry and established new sex toy standards. Johanna has been working in the industry for seven years, she has been a part of the aforementioned changes and innovations and can’t imagine doing anything else. Why? The company’s mission is to enable people all over the world to increase the satisfaction of their personal and sexual well-being and therefore, make them happy. Can there be a better job? Before working at WOW Tech Group, Johanna built up the communication department for a Berlin-based online sex shop which is one of Europe’s biggest retailers for sexual health and wellness products. Born and raised in Austria, Johanna completed a bachelor’s degree in Management & Law in Innsbruck. During an internship at a PR agency in Hamburg, she discovered her passion for the profession. To complete her academic career, Johanna completed a part-time MBA program in 2019 focusing on Communication & Leadership.
