Biography

Dr Katja Kircher works at the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI) and is the research leader for the area of road user attention. Her main research interest is understanding which factors influence attention in transportation and together with her colleague Christer Ahlström she developed the theory of Minimum Required Attention (MiRA). Her heart beats a little extra for active road users, and especially in recent years many of her research projects were focused on cyclists, always in some way related to attention. She is also interested in developing methods that can help advance the research area, and eye trackers are a frequent asset in her studies.
