Biography
Andreas Roepert holds degrees in mathematics from the University of Hamburg, Germany. Throughout his career he has worked for several international high-tech companies in IT and telecommunications. He has extensive experience in the launching and marketing of innovative technologies and expertise in IT and telecommunications.
Before joining Interactive Wear as co-founder and chief execution officer (CEO), he worked several years in the IT business for Siemens AG and as a freelancer IT and business consultant.
Interactive Wear AG is an electronics company specialized in the development and production of Conductive Smart Textiles / Distributed Wearable Electronics systems. The company designs flexible, lightweight and robust platforms and components for improved mobility and multimodal interaction concepts.
Smart Textiles and Wearable Electronics products are well-known in fashion and sports: communication, heating, light and body sensing applications have been on the market since nearly 20 years. Since spinning off from Infineon Technologies in 2005, Interactive Wear has already developed and produced products for the market in nearly 150 projects and has participated in more than 10 joint research projects.
Interactive Wear has a broad network of research and industrial partners in textile, electronics and computer science.
Andreas Roepert is member of the scientific advisory boards at ITA (Institute for Textile Technology at RWTH Aachen) and TITV (Textile Institute of Thueringen-Vogtland), and participates as expert in the smart textiles working group CEN/TC 248/ WG 31 and as advisor for EC-funded projects.
