Biography

Tim van der Loo, waste constitutes a valuable resource and not a burden. The Berlin-based Dutch designer that studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven (BA) and Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin (MA) uses waste discarded by consumers to develop new designs. Most important for him are sustainability and resourceful material strategies. With a playful approach to function and materiality of everyday objects, he addresses contemporary aesthetic to recycled materials.

He is the Co-founder at New Blue which is leading an unconventional path in the industry. With the starting point in waste, New Blue takes a smart approach to garment making. A novel material comes from giving end-life jeans the chance of another life. Endlessly New Blue garments can re-enter the supply chain, giving “raw” material a new meaning while giving jeans a new aesthetic
