Biography

Ida Urmas is an experienced circular fashion & visual designer based in Berlin. Currently specializing in the cradle to cradle inspired product innovation & healthy bio-based material alternatives suitable for the bio-cycle. Besides materials, she works very closely with various design strategies & business models for the circular systems. Ida is passionately interested in the future of clothing, circular textile production & how all that will reflect on our well-being.

After finishing her MA studies in “Sustainability in Fashion” in ESMOD Berlin Ida started her current position at Beneficial Design Institute as Circular Design Innovator for new materials suitable for circular systems and for cradle to cradle related projects.

Previously, Ida has attended a four-year BA program in Fashion and Clothing Design in Lahti Institute of Design. Along with her studies, she has proceeded an internship for a Finnish fashion label Ivana Helsinki and worked as a womenswear designer for Daniel Palillo as well as Finnish startup Pure Waste which creates new fabrics with new recycling methods by using cutting waste as a source for new textiles.
