Biography

Dr Brianna Goodale serves as the Managing Director for Ava’s COVID-19 research initiatives. She earned her PhD in quantitative and social psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2018 after graduating with a BA from Harvard University in 2009.

She has over 12 years of clinical research experience and has overseen studies investigating diverse populations from implicit bias training in police officers to market research on medical claims. She specializes in helping maternal and infant wearable tech companies strengthen their clinical strategy and develop a robust scientific program.

Dr Goodale completed a graduate-level data science internship with Ava AG before joining the company full time in July 2018. As a Clinical Data Scientist, Dr Goodale spearheaded a Data Mining initiative examining nightly physiological signals from more than 75,000 users of the Ava Fertility Tracker. She has received national and international grant funding for her research, which has been published in peer-reviewed journals across multiple domains.

Finally, Dr. Goodale is an Ava mom herself, using the Ava bracelet to conceive in early 2017, just prior to joining the company. When not crunching data or wrangling a toddler, Dr. Goodale enjoys mountain biking, trail running and feminist needlepoint.
